Living beside the sea was always a childhood dream for me. Family trips to Brighton would fill me with delight – the sounds, the smells, the colours, the neon lights, vintage kitsch and the smells all so enticing.
It’s a theme I’ve returned to time and time again and finally found myself settled on the coast not far from Brighton.
Brighton is a city full of life. The action on the seafront as people walk their dogs, meet for a coffee, go down to paly volleyball or shoot some hoops makes it an exciting place to live and I wanted to capture this in my painting.
